"For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone."-Audrey Hepburn

"Tell me darling, can I get a break somehow?"

I've had the same stupid song stuck in my head for 4 days. HELP! Oh well it's better than a week ago when Frosty the Snowman was stuck in my head.

Anyway Christmas was fantastic this year! Although I didn't get a puppy (I've been trying since I was 5 so no big shock that he wasn't under the tree this year) I did get lots of other cool stuff. :) Can't complain at all this year, but who would complain during this time of year?

So at work we were talking about the upcoming year and all the fun things that everyone had planned and somehow we got on the topic of things that you regret or are thankful that happened to you this year. I honestly could only think of one thing that I was grateful for this year...Sigma, but everyone already knows that. Now though thinking about the flip side to the question one thing you regret...I have one it's pretty silly and I don't really know if it should be something I regret because it's just really silly. Over the summer this year I met a boy. This boy is pretty incredible let's just get that out of the way right now. I kind of thought he was attractive then I started talking to him....turns out he's even better than I thought. He made me laugh and had a killer smile. Yeah, if you haven't guessed I totally fell for him. Crap. I knew he'd only be around for the summer before heading back up to school, but it was only one semester and lucky for me it was his last. We became pretty good friends, at least that's what I'd say, and of course the summer ended. He left and we didn't really talk much. Here's the part of the story that makes me want to crawl under a rock and hide. I thought about the boy everyday while he was gone. Yep. Everyday. I feel a little silly sharing that, but it's the truth. So as you can imagine the semester was horrible because I couldn't get him out of my head. I wasted an entire semester thinking about him. Ridiculous? Yeah you could say that.  Here's the kicker though I FINALLY get the kid out of my head and I find out he's back from school. All graduated and back. Will I do anything about his being home now? Probably not. So I regret being so shy. Yeah sure I can admit in a blog that I really like someone. Woo go me. Seriously though what I know I'll regret most this year is not doing a thing. Just sitting back watching someone else be bolder than I ever will be.
So my New Years resolution this year....actually being bold and doing something instead of sitting back doing nothing. Easier said than done, but I'm going to do it. Who knows, maybe something good could come from this. :)

Winter Wonderland

Snow. It's so pretty to look at. Fun to play in. An absolute nightmare to drive in. I really wanted a white Christmas, but I was kind of hoping it would snow on the days when I didn't have things to do. Bleh. Whatever. It's soooo great to look out and see all the snow. White Christmas I will get. :)

This time of year is my favorite. Not the whole everyone rushing around and everything being so busy, but the fact that you get to spend a lot of time with your family. My family means the world to me and to have all this time with them is amazing. We have such a great time together and laugh like crazy. It's great. I wish it could be like this all the time.
I've decided that this year I should actually express graditude (yes, I'm aware I should have done this for Thanksgiving, but it makes more sense to do it now.) to the one person who gave my family the best gift in the entire world. So story time and of course many thanks to this individual.

As some of you know my little sister is adopted. For those of you who didn't know...now you do.
She's an amazing person. For only being eleven she's extremely talented and smart. So to Cristen...you are an amazing person who thought of more than just yourself. I don't think you really know just how grateful I am of your one act that gave me my sister. I couldn't think of a better gift to be given to someone. You'll forever have a special place in my heart because you gave my family Rylin. I'll forever be grateful that you gave her to us. So it may seem really simple, but it's the best I've got...Thank you Cristen. Thank you so much.

Sitting here staring at the picture of the temple in my room got me to thinking about how many weddings I've been to this year...most of them have been married in the temple and I must say those are my favorite. Going to the receptions or even hanging around outside the temple for the happy couple to come out is just awesome. Everyone who was present for it has a glow about them. Do I envy them? You bet. One day I'll have that because I refuse to settle for anything less than having my husband and family for eternity. This seems so random, but one of my dear friends got married yesterday and just watching her...she looked absolutely beautiful and had this look in her eyes that one day I want to have too. She's probably the most beautiful bride I've seen and did I mention she glowed too? Does it have something to do with the fact that she got married in the temple? Pretty sure it does. One day. One day I'll have it too. Moral of this story...I love the temple. :)

Now I'm off to read my scriptures...I love reading the story of the birth of Christ. Best Christmas story ever? You bet.

"What's Twilight?"

So I've given up on that 30 days thing. I made it a whole 12 days. Woo.

Anyway...finals are over. Whew. Only one I'm pretty sure I sucked it up on...math....I hate math. It's stupid.
Race and Ethnicity was easy so was my Music Theory and Marriage and Family finals. Easy. Super easy.
I'm so glad that fall semester is over. I'm ready for spring semester. All those classes will be really great.

As far as winter formal goes....I had fun. It was a good excuse to wear a pretty dress again. Although now I remember why I don't really like dances, but it was still really really really fun. It was nice to be with all my friends and just not worry about the stress with finals. :)  Everyone looked fantastic too. It was fun...a lot of fun.

Criminal Minds is by far the best show ever. I finished season 5 and now have to wait for season 6 to come out. The things people say, namely Reed, in the different episodes crack me up. There was one that made me laugh for like 20 minutes. I know right? How could such a serious show make me crack up for that long? It was funny.  One of the episodes ws dealing with a singer who "played" a vampire for his singing career...here is what made me laugh. (Reed, just a quick btw, is a nerd. Full on nerd. Who never gets any jokes that the team tells him.)

JJ: Her password was Cullen.
Reed: Cullen?
JJ: You know as in the Cullen family from Twilight?
Reed: What's Twilight?

Yep..."What's Twilight?" It made ma laugh. I have no idea why I found it so funny, but it was. Hence the title of this post. :)

blah blah blah

School. 3 more weeks of torture. Honestly I feel like this semester will kill me. I have no motivation to go to class and listen to the random ramblings of some dude. Who hasn't been there right? Next semester though I don't give myself any breaks either. 20 credits. Yeah I thought it sounded fun to kill myself for a degree. Oh well I guess I'm just closer to that ever so special degree that I'm still not really sure what I'm going to do with. Bleh enough about school, it's enough to make one depressed.

Now onto a topic that just makes me smile. Sigma. LOVE IT. I don't think I can say that enough. People ask me what I'm doing with my life. I mention Sigma and they look at me like I've suddenly grown two heads. Really people? I know totally not what you'd think I'd be doing joining a sorority but, it's super fun and the girls I'm surrounded by are just the kind of people that I do need to surround myself with. They truely are amazing individuals. Only one problem with this whole sorority thing. Dances. Don't get me wrong I LOVE to dance. It's the whole "Ok find a boy to ask to the dance". Really? Oh wait. It has to be face to face. I really struggle with conversation face to face with the opposite sex. I'm just waaaaayyyy to shy to do that. Needless to say I signed up saying I'd go then had a fantastic thought "who in the crap am I going to ask????" I guess that's kind of an important question to consider before you decide to go somewhere that requires a date. Whatever I figured I'd find someone to go with no problem it was still a month away. Sooo I did. I found someone I deemed enough fun to take. The problem? Asking him. I didn't want to. I wanted to go with him, but not ask him. Yeah don't ask how I thought that was going to work for me because I have no idea. Anyway due to a lack in judgement I mentioned to some friends that I wanted to ask this person to Winter Formal. Oh my. Bad idea. I had to deal with "That's great! Look he's right there go ask him now!!!" Yeah sorry ladies. I sooo don't work that way. Plus I'm stinking shy. I put off asking him for a few days. Then come Friday I sort of realized I need to ask him or ask someone else. So I asked him. Although now I totally understand where the term "knocking knees" comes from, shy people like me having to do something like that. I just hope no one noticed how badly I was shaking while doing it. Other than my wonderful awkward moments having to ask ridiculously hard questions like that, Sigma is fantastic. I don't think I can say that enough. No, it's more than fantastic and more like an answer to a prayer. :)(:

Now that I've wasted an hour doing this instead of my essay for my nazi teacher...I feel it was a vey productive hour. :)
